About

I live in Kansas City, Missouri with my life-partner, Margo. I have three daughters: Katy, Kenzlee, and Kyla. I love coffee, camping, reading, the outdoors, Northern waters and keeping old stuff running. I began working in ministry after four years at Graceland University, in Lamoni, Iowa. Following a sense of call, my life changed after many years of seminary. I earned a PhD in contemporary theology and social ethics from Chicago Theological Seminary. I received a Masters in Theological Studies from Saint Paul School of Theology in Kansas City. I served as Dean of the Community of Christ Seminary from 2015-18, and currently adjunct for the seminary. I was at Graceland University a total of seven years from 2011 to 2018, during which time I also served as campus minister and religion instructor. I’ve served the church fulltime in the capacities of Mission Center President, Mission Support minister, pastor, and youth minister. I currently serve as Director of Human Resource Ministries for Community of Christ International Headquarters in Independence, Missouri.

My favorite color is midnight blue.

But the words mean something. Constructive theology concerns both theology and practice . Becoming a prophetic people requires attention on what people with prophetic faith do . This...

a prophetic people project
Community of Christ Doctrine and Covenants 162:1a I've been dreaming about a constructive project for years. It's a constructive theology project that can move Community of Christ into its future. Constructive theology doesn't happen out of thin air. It emerges out of a faith tradition. It concerns both word (theology) and practice. Constructive theology happens on the edges of institution and tradition. These are the boundaries at which faith and the world meet. Creative work needs a safe...

Visit to Kenya MIssion Center and Zambia/Zimbabwe/South Africa Mission Center January 10 to 25, 2026. In October 2025, my ministry assignment changed from the USA Field to Africa. January 10-25, Catherine Mambwe and I traveled to Kenya and Zambia. We spent deliberate time in Nairobi and Kisumu, Kenya, as well as Lusaka and Kashikishi,...
